Tony Lopez

Position: Head Coach

Coaching Experience: 5 years

Tony grew up in Colorado playing competitive baseball his entire life.  He played on the inaugural season for The Yard which is now Slammers.  Tony was a pitcher through High School graduating from Dakota Ridge and playing at Otero Junior College.  Tony coached the freshman class in 2007 for Heritage High School.  For the last 5 years Tony has been coaching Little League AYL and tee ball teams ranging in age from 4-9 years old.  Tony is excited to continue coaching the Marvels, alongside Coach Brent and teaching the boys baseball and life skills.  

Brent O’Brien

Position: Assistant Coach

Coaching Experience: 18 years

Brent has coached football for many years at both the college and high school levels. He spent eight years in the college ranks at programs including Hastings College, Fort Hays State University, Earlham College, and Loras College, serving in roles that ranged from Defensive Backs Coach to Defensive Coordinator and Special Teams Coordinator. During that time, he had the opportunity to coach multiple all-conference players and was part of Earlham College’s first winning season in more than a decade.

Since 2014, Brent has coached at Ponderosa High School in Parker, Colorado. As Defensive Coordinator, he played a key role in developing a strong, consistent defense and was recognized as the SE Metro League Assistant Coach of the Year in 2023. In 2024, he transitioned to Offensive Coordinator and was honored with the Outstanding Assistant Coach Award by the Colorado High School Coaches Association in 2025. Brent is passionate about helping student-athletes grow both on and off the field, and many of the players he has coached have earned all-conference and all-state recognition.

Brent has also been coaching youth baseball for four years and is excited to continue coaching the Marvels alongside Tony.
